Put a little joy in your brush and join award winning artist Nancy Medina for a day of making brilliant flowers bloom on canvas in this indoor workshop. Open to beginners as well as advanced students, including those who paint in acrylics and water based oils, you will learn to loosen your approach to the floral still life. Named one of the best floral and botanical artists by American Art Collector magazine, Nancy is an instructor for the Dallas Arboretum who teaches in France, Italy, and around the world. Nancy shares all her favorite tips with you for creating brilliant color on a transparent background, and methods for making your flowers look authentic and beautiful.  Students are encouraged to take lots of photos and ask many questions, and will take home the tools needed to create flowers paintings they will enjoy for years to come.

You will learn to:

Simplify shapes

Brighten colors

Add drama

Paint loosely with confident brush strokes

A supply list will be shared with students immediately following registration. The classroom facility has great light and is located in the most beautiful gardens in North Texas.

Nancy Medina’s classes are so popular at the Dallas Arboretum we have scheduled additional classes for her students after our regular teaching season is over. Her classes often sell out and so we have a waiting list for her, she is a wonderful teacher!
